http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...=gourmet%2dfood

I was looking at the low carb products amazon has and I found those saying atkins friendly.

I almost find it offensive that people who see something like this kinda feeding a sterotype.

I wish someone would post an atkins friendly sign on a bag of spinach or some broccoli.

I know it will never happen but wishful thinking.

They sound good to me, assuming the chocolate is LC (there's no ingredients listed there)

But I did used to love chocolate covered pretzels (for the limited time they were out in the UK ) (and obviously before LC!)

It says the chocolate is sugar-free.

I agree, the butter and cinnamon one's were awful... don't even get me started on the mock french toast made with them..

After I stopped laughing, I decided I might like Porkchocs. After all one of my favorite things to eat prior to low carbing was salty popcorn and chocolate candy. I would eat a bit of one and then the other. Mmmmm. I don't like pork rinds, but I do like salty and sweet things together, so maybe these would be good. At least the chocolate would cover up the pork taste.

I love pork rinds and the real ones as well (chicarones), but the thought of chocolate covered ones turned my tummy!!!

Don't think I like the idea of chocolate on my pork rinds but I did like the pork rinds covered with butter and cinnamon and slenda. Maybe I am weird but it satisfies my craving.

To each their own!
I used to love a bite of chocolate and then a bite of potato chip, one would trip the other.
Unfortunately, I really don't like pork rinds.

I agree about the Atkins friendly tag on "real" food. Two coworkers announced that they were starting Atkins and turned up the next day with shakes, bars, candy, etc. I expect to hear in a few days or weeks that it didn't work for them. I think some use the "friendly" products in a plan (diet) similar to slimfast, and never understand the concept of changing your WOE.

I do love the RS candy and the Davinci syrups ~laughing~ but chocolate covered pork? no thanks.

Okay, one of you candy makers out there needs to try this at home. At first I thought they sounded gross, but I too love chocolate covered pretzels. These might actually be good. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a cook and definitely not a candy maker.

Would someone out there be willing to give it a go??
