Default Question about smoothies...

Let me start off by saying that I am getting the book TOMMORROW as I know many get mad at the newbies asking questions in it...

Since I dont have it, I went to the local smoothie store and they have this "4-carb" smoothie....I mean...is it really 4-carbs? They do add strawberries and bananas too it....

Neil,
You can always ask a question, glad to help if we can. Since you are getting the book tomorrow and your weight stats are the same, my guess is you are still doing induction? That is if you are on Atkins. You put not sure for plan type. Makes it a little hard to help IF you are doing Atkins, and IF you are doing induction, then no you should not have the fruit smoothie. After induction, you can slowly add in nuts and berries by an extra 5 carb increase. Bananas would be much later to add back in to your menu. Take care and good luck,
Marie

Wait to start until you get the book, or you could be setting yourself up for disapointment.

For the first two weeks it is very strict on the kinds of food syou can eat. The list of allowed foods is huge though, and there is a wonderful recipe section on here with many creative ideas.

After the first two weeks, or when you choose after, you start OWL, or ongoing weight loss. In that phase you slowly start adding back in different kinds of foods to see if there are any you can't tolerate, and what level of carbs you can tolerate.

Be careful with all the new "low Carb" products on the market. Many don't understand what a low carb diet is, and will slap low carb on the side of anything that has under a certain amount of carbs. There is also a lot of franken foods. That means created in a lab like frankenstiens monster instead of whole natural foods. Many people find those foods stall thier weight loss. The only way to know though is once you have the basics of the plan down, to try and add new things and see how you personaly react.

Until you get the book, these may help.
