Talking Delaware County has been LC!

Because all of us have been doing LC WOE. I have as long as two months ago wanted to start a LC store or franchise after reading about the guys in California selling franchises. I just don't have the commitment to invest. Will have to check out this new store - I saw the ad in the paper when it opened up. The other thing is I would be afraid that as soon as I open the store Wall-Mart, Giant, Acme all would come out with tons of low carb food and hurt the sales at specialty stores. So I feel that anyone in that business will have to diversify into possibly other diet and health food to survive long term. My sister needs ultra low sodium food and that is very hard to find!

Sure enough I heard Acme in NJ has a big low carb section - the one in PA near me - Granite Run - I was just there and they have Atkins / Arnolds bakery low carb bread. Also I saw Atkins breakfast cereal. The Giant near where I work is remodeling and will have a low carb section. As soon as all my favorite selections are available at Acme it is goodbye to specialty stores and internet buying. Right now I buy everything from Netrition and a little from the local GNC. The big supermarkets should bring the prices down. I don't buy alot of selections mostly LC hot cereal for breakfast - Flaxomeal, Carbsense, Ketocrisp, Pancake mix, Brownie mix.

Just good to hear from other Delaware County, PA LCers!

I was thinking about opening a lc store too. It sounds like everyone has something against specialty stores though. I know GNC is having a lot of trouble.

Oops... forgot to check back in this thread.

I bought low-carb tortillas (great) and some low-carb pancake surup (much better than atkins). I'm tempted to go back and pick up some more stuff, but since then I've adopted a philosophy of eating more natural... less engineered foods. I think getting out of the habit of eating bagles (low carb or not) is probably the best for long term success.

Still, it's nice to know I can head there for "special occasion" food.
