Thumbs up 3rd Day on Atkins & my migraines are GONE!

This is so cool! I suffer from severe migraines and have been taking fioricet which is highly addictive. I have been through every migraine med there is and NOTHING else worked. . . .I can count on a migraine almost daily. Anyway this is my third day (cheat free) on Atkins and I have not had a single headache! Not even a teeny tiny baby headache! That's really different for me! I'm hoping it actually has something to do with the diet and is not just coincidence. I also read up on the diet and some people are discussing the possibility that it's good for epileptics. . .I know SEVERE epileptics follow a much stricter version "The Ketogenic Diet" but I've only had four major seizures in my lifetime (I'm 27) and I'm thinking maybe this will help curb any further seizures as well. . . it's looking more and more like this is a really really positive lifestyle change for me! I'm really excited! If anyone has any info on or had heard of this drug relieving migraines could you point me in that direction???? thanks!

Hi, sorry no info, but wanted to wish you well and congratulate you on your lack of migraines. I remember my mother having them and it was bad news.

I was diagnosed epileptic eons ago, but a brain scan last summer was normal and a wonderful neurologist got me off Dilantin, an evil drug that depletes calcium from bones and teeth. I had teeth just chipping off! He said he couldn't believe they put me on it in the first place. God only knows what my bones are like. But with this new way of eating, I feel even better than when I was weaned off Dilantin. I think I'm not only avoiding the diabetes that runs in my family, but also preventing any possible future seizures as well! Great reasons to pass up those peanut butter cookies they had in the cafeteria today!

ciao and good luck!
