Default Running (excercising) while in induction? Having problems!

I am a 4 mile a day runner in my 5th day of induction. Oh my God is it killing me! I feel terrible about 1 mile into my run and have to stop and walk sometimes. I used to be able to run 10 miles but now I can barely do 4. Any suggestions? I'm assuming its because of my drastic cut in carbs.?

It could be your cut in carbs. Your body will take a while to get used to it. I am on day 6 of induction and I haven't seen the extra energy everyone has been talking about. But, I am hanging in there. I know it will come soon

Sometimes the extra energy might take a bit as your body moves to a new energy store. I think alot of bodies are extreamly stubbern and resistant to change, even a healthy one. Also if you are exercising that much, be sure you are getting enough calories to fuel the exercise and the weight loss.

I was a regular cardio exerciser before starting this also. I found that during the first two weeks, I lacked energy for my workouts and had moments of lightheadedness. Once the body adapts though, it's no problem. I've been fine since then.

This morning I did a 45 minute advanced step tape and a lower body weight workout plus tacked on 10 minutes of abs. No problem.

I normally recommend not doing any excersies for first two weeks while on atkins. Note: Not for induction, since I recommend longer than 2 weeks, but just until you adapt. After that, most folks have a lot more energy.

I agree with Sox, you might want to cut back on the running until after induction. If you fell the need to exercise, try a brisk walk instead for a few days. The energy will come come back soon!
