Default Are pretty much all seasonings okay?

I dunno, I read the induction thing and you can have pretty much any, I guess, unless it has added sugar.

Today I was going to make some lemon-peppy chicken. 0 carbs ( or at least, less than 1 per serving..) And 'sugar' was on the ingredients list. Does this mean lemon-pepper is a no-no?

It's just so hard to believe that I could be following this diet to a tee, and something like seasoning would screw me over.

This list was on Atkins induction allowed list:

Spices
All spices to taste, but make sure none contain added sugar.

Herbs

basil
garlic
rosemary
cayenne pepper
ginger
sage
cilantro
oregano
tarragon
dill
pepper
thyme

If it has sugar and you are in induction I would say avoid. But if over induction just count the carbs in your total.

RobZero, the way I understand it is no sugar at all in spices. Only spices that say 0 for sugar.

I should've come back and read this before I ate.

Argghhhh.

Blah, oh well. Maybe it didn't have much in it. At least the carbs were zero.. In either case, from this point on no more sugar! Even if I have to start my two weeks over.

mmmm, lemon pepper chicken is a staple for me. I also put it on zucchini slices sauteed in oil and on fish, too. I didn't see any sugar in mine. I'll check the label again and make sure it's no sugar/carbs and give you the brand name, if you want it????

Sure, if it has no sugar, I'll take the name.

Rats, it DOES have sugar
I use it sparingly and count it as 0.5 g carbs, anyway, to be on the safe side. It's McCormicks. Mrs Dash makes one too, with sugar, unfortunately.

Sorry!
