Question Flu like symptoms after eating Italian?

Hi everyone, Ive been doing very well in my current low carb routine and have been losing a lot of weight. Im already down to a 34 inch waist.

Last night I went out to eat Italian with coworkers. For the most part I had shrimp, calamari and mussels, but I also had a little eggplant parmesan and some pasta with pesto.

Wow, do I feel sick today! I feel like I have the flu! All of the symptoms except for a fever.

Anyone else had this after a meal with carbs?

I've never had such a carb overdose, but I've heard of such a "hangover" effect after eating too many carbs. After awhile of eating low-carb, your body sorta goes into a shock when it's being flooded with a lot of carbs..

my suggestion is to drink a lot of water to clean out your system, and get back to a stritch carb in take for a few days.

hope you feel better soon.

That's the aftershock of a carb laden night, most definitely. Carbs tend to make me sleepy and bloated when I eat them in excess - but that is real excess (we're talking 600g in 24 hours). In smaller doses they make my skin feel itchy and flushed - like when you have too much alcohol too quickly.

It usually doesn't last long - 24 to 48 hours and the excess water will be lost. And it is water, so don't freak when you see a scale blip
