Default Info on Lexapro

Hey everyone,
I just posted in the atkins forum about this, but I think I should post here as well. Does anyone have any experience with Lexapro? Has it helped you or affected your weight loss/ lifestyle in any way?

Any info/personal experiences would greatly help. Thank you...
Jenna

Default lexapro

keep in mind that everyone is different. what is one person's wonderdrug is another's poison...that said...
I did not react well to lexapro. I became an extremely tired vegetable. I couldn't get out of bed (I did want to) and lifting my arms became a challenge. It did not help me at all. I did gain a lot of weight but I wouldn't blame it on the drug. I would more blame it on the lack of exercise and laying in bed all of the time because I was too exhausted to move. And no it did not help my severe depression one iota (I don't know what you are planning on taking it for) I am on Wellbutrin now and while I do not feel "happier" I do not feel worse so I am hoping this one will work. Just try and find what works for you.

Thumbs up

I have been taking it for about 6 months now. I take it at night, because it does seem to make me sleepy. However, I think that it has help me cope with every day stress levels (if you will), I also take wellbutrin in the AM. I have gained weight;however, I can't blame the drugs or at least not totally. I think some of the wgt. comes from just not being the person I just to be and not doing the activities that I used to enjoy. Also my eating habits aren't what they should. Actually that is why I'm here, I just started the low carb and a friend told me about this site. She said it would help me get started. Good luck with the drug if you decide to take it!! I hope it helps, but if it doesn't there are others that might fit you better. good luck

I have a friend who has tried a few meds and she is now on Lexapro. She says she feels great and has experienced no side effects. She is like superwoman too - a young family, full time uni study, etc, etc

It Helped me, helped alot and I am not seeing any problems with weight loss at this point, although I am still on 2 week induction. Always give something time to get into your system before you give up on it and like thunder I take mine at night just in case it makes me sleepy. I also found this one didn't numb my nether regions so I can still have a good time, if you know what I mean! lol So far of all the ones I have tried this is it for me....the best...I hope it works for you

Antidepressants are different for everyone. I can't take Prozac or Lexapro, but I do well on Zoloft and Effexor. You just have to try it out and if it doesn't work don't hesitate to let your doctor know.

Thanks for all the information. I'm the type of person that learns a lot from other people's experiences, so I appreciate all your thoughts and tips.
