Red face Grouse Grind Is Open!!!

Calling all Lower Mainlanders!!!!

Spring is here and the Grouse Grind is open!!!

How does a hike up the Grouse Grind on May 10th or 11th? I am not talking a race up as I am not in the greatest of shape and am hoping for some slow-goers.

Maybe a little picnic/potluck dinner somewhere after??

Just an idea..

Linnea

Default May 11th

Okay, someone just pointed out that May 11th is Mother's Day...

Maybe we could incorporate a little Mother and Daughter hike?

Default Hi Linnea

It's great that you're trying to get something going, but I'm afraid that the Grind would kill me at this stage. Maybe next year?

I must pass on my regrets. Cardio is not my idea of a good time.

I'm going up tonight for the first time of the season - I can tell you about the conditions next post if you like.

I do it once a week - this season will be on Thursdays. The more the merrier I always say. It takes me an hour (however tonight might be a lot slower).

Also this will be my first time doing it as a LC'er so it will be interesting to see my energy/endurance levels.

Default Great!

Yes, please do let me know how it goes. I have never actually done it myself. I hear there is an easy trail and a hard trail... this true?

You ever need some company just let me know!

There is NO easy trail. It is an intense and challenging workout which maxes out your heart no matter which way you go up (not counting the gondola!!).

The conditons are good. A little wet at the top.

Took me 72 minutes (slow). I don't know if that is from not having done it since last fall or from LC'ing. The top "grinders" do it in 40 or so minutes.

I don't think I could make it either....have a hard enough time chasing my 18 month old son around all day!
