Wink Glad to be here

Hey Everyone.

My name is Melessa, and I just officially started Induction about an hour ago. I have been contemplating low-carbs for about three to four months. A nurse that I work with lost over 40 pounds on Atkins, but I was nervous because of all the bad publicity that low-carb diets have been getting. But, then I figured the pounds of sugar I am putting into my body cannot possibly be good for me either...so here I am. I am somewhat worried because I have never really started and completed any diet my whole life

I would like to lose about 80 pounds. But, I am also hoping that low-carbs can help clear my brain fog and relieve me of my many allergies. If anyone has had any positive experiences with this, I would love to hear about it. I am loving this website. The success stories are inspirational and there is so much information here at the touch of my finger tips. Well, I am going to go and exercise. I hope everyone has a great day. Take care.

Melessa

Welcome!

Don't be surprised if you feel a little loggy and tired at first. That only lasts a few days as your body detoxes from the carbs. In fact, if you start to feel icky-take that as a sign it is working! After that you should feel great.

Welcome,

I avoided Atkins for several years too long because of the media spin on the diet. I eat healthier now that I think I ever had. Bread and buns don't make for health--protein, veggies, berries etc. do.

I definitely noticed that my allergies got much better when I was following Atkins faithfully. I had been cheat free for months and whenever I do cheat I find that sinuses start to act up due to the allergies.

This WOL can be very rewarding, I only wish I had started in a group like this when I first started Atkins a year ago. I'm sure I would be closer to my goal.

Sandy
