Default Heya..New to this forum...Seeking answers to my diet needs..

Male...weight is currently 275lbs..

I am not depressed about the weight..Just my gut...I figure if i lose 20lbs or so i would be happy...

My lifecycle is kinda messed up from work life / home life..

I work a 4 day in a row 12 hour work week..then 4 days off...7pm to 7am.

I weightlift & run 5 days a week...workout around 3pm till 4:30/5pm..shower then eat dinner at home....i go to work few hours later i get hungry...hmmm what to eat at 9pm..which on my body cycle it is lunch for a dayshift worker..

Days off from work i do the normal eating lifecycle...breakfast,lunch..workouts are same time as during work days..

Last year i skimmed thru the Atkins diet and tried it...After the first 2 weeks i lost 14lbs.....I loved it but kinda grew tired of the lack of carbs..Pasta / pizza lover here !!

So far ive been doing a low carb / low cal diet....My own style..

Just need some insight on a diet plan...Looking for guidance on meals (what to eat for dinner,lunch...etc)

Thanks for your time..

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Sounds like you work in industry - same as me.
I don't have much advice for you as far as meals, especially if you have read the book. There are some excellent recipes out there if you are into cooking. If not, you can always do like I do at lunch and eat a bunch of hot dogs with mustard and no buns!

I hear you about missing the carbs though! I'm a chips, fries, beer guy myself...

I have found the biggest problems I have are *not* meals, but snacks! Meals are pretty easy if you have meats, eggs and cheeses ready to cook up.

Snacks on the other hand, can take a lot of prep time. I like deviled eggs, and also make sugar-free fudge treats, but you have to make them in advance. Pork rinds that are hot and spicy aren't too bad however!

Good luck to you this time. Hope things work out!

Eat whatever you like at 9pm! Low carb, of course.

I've found that cooking a bunch of chicken drumsticks and keeping them in the fridge helps. I can always grab one or two for a snack or lunch.

Cashews/walnuts/macadamia nuts are good too.

Hi. I have to pack lunches for my husband and daughter. You could try:

Meat roll-ups ~ (like a wrap without the tortilla). If you like pizza you could layer deli-cuts of turkey, pepperoni & mozzarella cheese with some chopped tomato, green peppers and green onions. Flavor the tomatoes (the night before) with some garlic powder, basil and oregeno. (Go light on the tomatoes.)

Tuna / chicken / salmon Salad: (Buy the fish packed in olive oil ~ if you don't drain it too agressively the remaining oil cuts down on the mayo amount.) Mix a can of tuna (or equivilent) with 1/2 to 1 C finely chopped celery & green onions, lots of fresh black pepper and 1 oz. of the lower carb nuts (macadamia or almond slivers) if you can have them yet. Add enough real mayo to make it look and taste good. Eat it rolled in turkey slices or as a dip for celery sticks.

Hope that help. I love the chicken leg idea too.
