Unhappy Almost there...

I am quite frustrated. I am looking for tips to help me lose my last few pounds. I am within 5-7 pounds of my goal, but haven't been able to lost for the last couple weeks at all. I'm starting to feel that i'm going to be at the same weight forever, and always just beyond the reach for my goal. Ugh. Please help if you can. THanks.

My dear, it's going to be very slow going for you to lose these last few pounds. First of all, you're already quite thin, and your body may not want to lose any more weight. Second, it's supposed to take a long time to drop the last 5-10 pounds. Have you read the Atkins book section on pre-maintenence?

Just keep at it, and play with your carb counts, calories and fat percentages. The pre-maintenence phase is a learning experience. Please don't be in a hurry — you've done well so far, but the closer you get to goal, the slower the weight comes off. It's true for me, and I'm still 40 pounds away from goal!

I found that my goal was too low.
I'm the SIZE I want to be, but fifteen pounds heavier than I thought. If that's the case, or you just need toning, maybe you need to rethink your goal weight. We get both denser and smaller by eating this way.
Without some further thought, you might drive yourself crazy by trying to get down to a weight your body doesn't really want to get to.

Exercise, tone tighten, grab those weights. It's probably not going to be a matter of losing more weight, instead it will be tightening up what you do have and lowering body fat just a bit. Rememebr no one sees that number on the scale but you, it's meaningless. By exercising and eating healthy to support the building of lean mass you can fit into a size or two smaller jeans, and that's what people do see.
