Sorbitol question

Is sorbitol a sugar alcohol?

I had sugar free ice cream, 15 carbs (I know, a bit high) but the ice cream parlor showed me nutritional information and it was sweetened with sorbitol. I'm going to count 15 carbs and not deduct; don't know how many gms. of sorbitol.

Not sure what size ice cream you had, but 15g sounds low. Sorbitol count as carbs, but not as "net carbs". HOWEVER, the milk in the ice cream is high in carbs (the bad type)!.. one cup of milk has 14g of carbs.....
