1 gram won't kill you, but you can get better cheese. If you're talking about sliced cheese in individual plastic wrappers, usually American Processed Cheese Food, then I'd skip it for some real cheese slices. Even the stuff you can get at the deli counter, get it sliced, is better than the fake stuff.

Just my 2-cents worth.

Hi Monkey1!

I suppose it depends on how strict you are going to be with your program. For a lot of folks, 1 gram of sugar isn't going to make much difference one way or another. For others, it might.
Processed American cheese such as Kraft singles aren't technically allowed at least during the induction phase. Use hard or semi-soft cheeses instead like cheddar, colby, swiss and mozzarella. Also, cheese is limited to 3-4 ounces per day during induction as well, so pay attention to how much you are using.

To "process" the cheese they add other cheaper transfat oils too so the cheese product is not as good as real cheese.

Some things show sugars as part of the total carb count. If it is natural sugar like in tomato not added sugars-I don't count that any different then any other carb.
