Question free foods

I thought eggs were free foods that you could eat as much as you wanted. Now i'm reading in some posts there not. If not how many carbs does an egg actually contain?

Hi Zoki,

One of the reasons Dr Atkins restricts us to only 3 cups salad/veg is that he assumes we will also be eating other carb containing foods such as eggs, cheese and cream.

I don't know if you are using www.fitday.com yet, but if you feed your day's menus into Fitday, you'll see that you can eat several eggs along with some cheese etc, and still be under 20g. Don't forget he also says you can have olives, avocado and tomato, too.

You can squeeze a lot of bang into your 20g buck if you know how!

Happy low carbing!

Rosebud
