Default How Many Carbs A Day?

Once you have reached your desired weight or size, what are the guidelines as to how many carbs to consume per day to maintain?

This is something you arrive at by trial and error. Everyone is different. The usual thing to do is to introduce healthy carbs (fruit and whole grains) slowly back into your diet until you stop losing.

Hi Tery,

That seems to be a totally individual thing. Some folk will still lose weight on 60 carbs a day, while others will only lose on under 30.

How about doing some reading on low carb? Trying to follow low carbing "on your own" is making it unnecessarily hard on yourself. The books of the plans all spell out guidelines on how to move onto maintenance.

If you wish to choose a plan (and I strongly recommend you do ), go to "Which low carb plan is right for me?" at the right side of the screen, under Quick Links.

I have allowed myself 40c in the past and still lost. I think it helps alot if you exercise. People that exercise normally can have more carbs than those that dont.
