Default Fell out of ketosis, dont know why?????

Been on the Atkins plan for about a month & have done well....I was in moderate Ketosis (per the stix) but now I am out completely. I have cut my carbs down to less than 20 & still out. I think I'm still losing some but I can't understand not getting into ketosis. I guess I am somewhat resistant. My wife & co-worker are both in heavy key & have more carbs than I do.....kinda frustrating.....any suggestions??? Thanks!

What have you been eating? If you could post your meals for the last several days it would help us to see where those sneaky carbs are creeping in. You might want to try www.fitday.com to keep track of your nutrition if you don't already.

Hi Folks,

Something that needs to be considered: the strips can go bad.

I keep mine in the medicine cabinet, the worst place because of the high humidity from showers and heat from the sun that strikes it through a skylight. They should be stored in a cool, dry place. To make it worse, I always get a stick out in the morning while my bride is in the shower, introducing "bad" air into the bottle. So, the last bottle of 100 indicated I was out of ketosis about a month ago.

I knew I wasn't.

The sticks had gone bad.

After using them for eight months now, I finally decided to go it alone and not get new ones.
I do sort of miss the act of wetting the stick, but I am sure to get over that.

Point is, store the little things properly.

Best wishes,
T.

Wow, That is interesting, I never thought about the sticks going bad!

I have seen this negative ketosis thing happen to my husband. What I can tell you is that sometimes diet soda or other things that contain aspertame can add up and kick you out.

But I also agree that sometimes you can loose even if they say your out of k.

Good Luck!!!

My Ketones HIDE in the bladder untill AFTER I have wet the test strip...THEN, and only then, do they pass out in the urine stream. SNEAKY little things...those ketones. A very uncooperative bunch!

Extra note: Weren't THE KETONES a 50's band?
Best to all;
Happy Jake

The same happened to me and I'm hoping that I have stored them incorrectly! Other than this is it possible to be a mental thing? Like if you believe you are out then you'll be out? Should I be more positive?
