Default Okay, Im TIRED OF MY STRETCH MARKS!!!

Yep... Sorry if Im posting in the wrong section but this is the most visited..

Anyways, Ive always had the nice, clear, not so obvious, blend in with the skin-type of stretch marks on my hips, thighs, backs of my arms, and on my umm..'chest area'... this is from, Im assuming, my glorious yo-yo dieting of the past 10 years of my life.. (since I was 12, basically) where I would gain and lose over and over..

Now that Ive hit my ultimate highest point in weight, also with this terrible achievement have come along some.... RED STRETCH MARKS on my belly just below my belly button..!!! Ive NEVER HAD RED ONES!!

This was pretty much the last straw for me being fat, and I decided to go back on the LC WOL... it really sucks that I let it get this far, because now I see this puppies every day.. Anyways, its a good thing that it took something that lame to jumpstart me back into doing something good for myself, such as losing weight..

NOW, the question, how do you all deal with stretchmarks? Ive been using an excellent emu oil and shea butter cream and it actually seems to be working on 'healing' them..(awesome incredible made from scratch stuff..!!) but does anyone have any other advice??

Sorry for my ramblings, Im tired, and the past few days I had kept forgetting to ask.. so this is what you get..
Thanks in advance..!

This may seem a little drastic, but I can be a bit vain. Dermatologist can use a laser on stretch marks to rid you of them pretty much at that moment. It's a little pricey(not sure exactly) but it's quick and efficient. If it bothers you a lot maybe it's something you want to look into. I tried the Vitamin E, scar cream, and Cocoa Butter on my stretch marks and they ddi nothing. I wish I could be of better help.

I got those awful red stretch marks on my stomach too, the year I gained a bunch of weight.

They did fade when I lost a few pounds a year or so later and now they look as pale as my other ones. They seem to be getting less and less noticeable as my belly shrinks. I just use lots of ordinary moisturizer. Your skin is young and that is a benefit. I'm sure they will improve in appearance once you lose a few pounds.

Good luck!

k.

I too have the stretch marks, mine are pale and on my belly thighs and butt area. When I posted a simular question, some suggestions were soft brush scrubbing, and using Vit- E with aloe. I'm trying the scrubbing only because I haven't made it to the strore for some cream yet. I've have noticed that my skin in those areas are smoother and it has only been a week. I think the stretch marks will take some time to diminish. I hope as I get smaller in size and with some help my skin will have a little snap left in it and they will fade.

Good luck with what ever you do.

since they're still pink, that scar cream on the market may work for you (doesn't work on old, silvered marks, tho). They will fade and tanning cream/salon will make it less noticeable, but otherwise you're stuck with them Believe me, after 3 babies, I KNOW about stretch marks

Thank you all, SOO MUCH for your quick replies.

Ive heard about the laser..one day when im rich and thin I'll go have them removed..(heh I'd like to think that we'll all be rich and thin someday...)

I will try the scrubbing, Ive heard of that scar cream, I found it on ebay, actually, for a lot cheaper than what they sell it for in the stores..

Take care all!

Mederma does work really well on fresh scars, just be sure to use it every day for at least eight weeks, then they'll start fading. Also, skin brushing is supposed to help with stretch marks and also to stimulate your lymph system to escort fat away.

Question Silver textured stretch marks

So is there anything we can do for the silvered textured stretch marks? Does the texturing smooth out at all with time?
Since I've lost my weight, all my purple stretch marks turned silver and its the textured ones I don't like. my waist looks like a crumpled paper bag that you hold by the neck. Awful!!

Ugh.. Ive had my silvery stretch marks since I was like 14, so I dont even notice them anymore really..but as someone mentioned earlier, you can get that laser surgery that zaps them away..if only everything was that easy....

If you guys are going to buy Mederma, check on ebay first.. Im telling you.. Ebay has EVERYTHING.. nod.. and its almost always cheaper there..

the cream that I purchased (hand made, from scratch dream cream basically) has already faded them dramatically I think.. Ive only been using this stuff for maybe a week? 10 days? and theyve gone from deep red/crimson to a light pink color.. now they just look like the marks your jeans leave after you've been wearing them for a few hours..maybe a bit lighter (you all know what im talking about....)

So yeah..Im going to continue using this dream cream.. ahhh..so good... PM me or email me if you are interested in it and I'll tell you how to get it.. just so you know, the lady that makes it has her own farm and uses all of her own natural ingredients.. I dont want to turn this thread into any more of an advertisement than it already is.. heh.. stupid stretch marks..

Lessara..thats a brutal description!!! Hugs.. I remember when I was younger (14-15) and lost a bunch of weight I was saggy everywhere and with time I toned up from exercise... I can only hope that you tone and tighten up as well.. I dont want anybody looking like a crumpled paper bag!!!
