DH's are so cute when they are genuinely trying to help. Mine once surprised with me a big pot of corn on the cob heaping with butter because he knew it's one of my favorites and thought it was okay for Atkins! Aghhhhh!

Some Jerky is OK but most of it that I find is real high in carbs and has sugar. It really varies by brand. I live in a big city and have only been able to find one brand of turkey jerky that is doable and I only have it on RARE occasion when I'm desperate. Checking the label is your best bet (if it does not have a label I personally would not eat it). Remember, even if by some miracle it is low in carb and sugars, it's probably really high in sodium and preservatives. In that case I might have just a little bit but then stop.

For me finding jerky that's ok is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I'm betting you can't eat what he got. Thank him immensely though . . . hopefully he won't feel bad about it.

Thank him VERY much for wanting to be supportive. This is going to be VERY valuable in the weeks to come. Let HIM eat the jerky as a snack instead of the chips etc that are carbage. You could even 'pretend' to munch on the jerky to show your appreciation.

And gradually educate him into the new way of eating. My DH has been having LC dinners for ages - no added starches or anything.

Awwwwww!

After reading so many posts about unsympathetic hubbies whining about not getting what they want for dinner, how refreshing to see one about one who cares!

The finer points of carb counts will be learned when he reads up on it to join you, until then, enjoy it! Does he have a single brother????
