Default PaxilCR & low carb

I had lost over 80 lbs when my doctor put me on PaxilCR for anxiety. In the past 8 months I've put back on about 60 of those pounds! I am so disgusted with myself. I've tried to get off the Paxil but I can't deal with the anxiety or the light headedness I get coming off of them. Am I doomed for life to be overweight? Anyone have any supplement suggestions?

Unhappy withdrawals

When coming off of paxil or any other anti-depressant you have to do it slowly. It took me about 2 months to go from 20 mg/day to nothing. At times I did experience withdrawals, lightheadedness, headache, nausea, vomitting but it did pass and I just took it slow. When you are finally off of paxil there are many natural remedies out there that you can try like, St. John's wort, 5htp, sam-e....but you will have to do some research and figure out what works best for you. Kelly's is a good place to start

I take PaxilCR, xanax, and risperdal with no weight side effects.

I use Relora for anxiety (also decreases appetite) and Wellbutrin SR for depression and it has not affected my weight loss.

Try looking for some other reasons that you might have gained weight there is a high possibility that it is not the medicine. Unless you feeling better is making you eat more, which is 9 out of 10 times the reason people gain on anti depressants.

I gained quite a bit of weight when I was on Paxil, and have lost it since I've been off. I switched my anti-depressant to Lexapro, a new medication that not only works better for my depression, but does not have the weight-gain side effect.
