Talking Sausages Anyone ??

My wife just got me some nice sausages from our local Tesco,,

I know there are a few threads here on various products and in various shops,, but i thought i would point this out as it's the lowest carb count i have seen in a sausage. 0.9grams per sausage.............. yes thats right,, under 1 gram per sausage.

They are Teco Finest Range and they are the traditional made chipolata sausage,, they aren't the usual small 1 bite & they're gone ones,, these are a bit bigger and last a bit longer must be all of 3.5 inches long,, not very thick tho, but they seem to have more of a meaty content as opposed to the usual mushy gumf that you tent to find in some sausages....

Anyway,, hope this helps someone as it did for me

regards
Disky

I did used to buy a lot of low carb sausages all supermarkets tend to have them, but I have gone of them, and they are now in the freezer, I must admit I do still preffer good old walls sausages, but alas they are very high in carbs!! never mind!

Thanks for adding these. Did you put them in the sticky at the top of the page as well. I know Waitrose do very low carb sausages as well.

Like Lynda I'm steering clear of sausages for now. For me they have toooo many calories.

Another good place for sausages is your local butcher if you have one.
Mine will make up some especially for me without any nasties in them.

I've tried those Tesco's chipolatas - they're very good! As you say, they are more like normal sized sausage than a chipolata. Tesco's also do a couple of other pretty low carb sausages. There are one's called something like Toulouse sausages which are French style and seem to be just about all meat, and some Hungarian paprika ones. They are on the shelf with the Finest sausages range. They don't taste like traditional British bangers, and look a bit strange but they're very good! They remind me more of a kofta than sausages, or those sausagey things you get in Indian restaurants.

Sainsbury's also do a Sicilian style sausage with 0.3 net carbs per sausage. I had some for breakfast and they were pretty good.

I think the Tesco hungarian style are my fave, and with 0 carbs you can't complain!!
