Angry Mad at "The View"!!!!!!!

Okay, I LOVE to watch "The View", but as i listen, I'm MAD at Joy Behar!!!

She's sitting there trashing Atkins as a bad diet, because you don't learn how to eat smaller portions! "Eat all this bacon for five hours! Atkins says...You never learn to eat normally, and that's why it doesn't WORK!" she claims....

I remember the weight loss challenge they had last year, and they PUT her on Atkins. She failed at it, because she refused to give up her wine and bread!!!! Now she loses weight and brags about Nutrisystem or whatever plan she's on, and meanwhile admits they paid her BIG BUCKS to use their plan and lose... I'll watch, and in my mean-spirited way, I hope she gains it ALL back....

"The View" has been notorious for bashing low-carb. Those women annoy me anyway and for that fact I won't watch them (my husband feels the same way!)

Be cool if Star suddenly lost 100 pounds on Atkins. That would blow a lot of people away!

I really don't think Star is interested in losing weight. I think she is afraid that people will "view" her in a different light. Look at al Roker.
Starr makes it a point all the time to say how happy she is with her body.
I know that I used to say that too lol. now I say I am happy with the size I am too but I still want to lose more weight. I am happier with myself now then when I was 219 but not as happy as I will be at 150. Joy Behar is just not my cup of tea. I stopped watching the view after the 2nd time Joy was supposed to go on a diet and failed. sorry to ramble.

Had to go to the View's website after reading this thread to send an email with my opinion and came across this.

I just wonder what type of diet advice she'll be giving?

I personally have only seen The View once (only because I'm not home when it's on - so I don't really know if I like it or not)... but, I sure see her Jenny Craig commercials about every 10 minutes!! ("I lost 23 pounds in 11 weeks!!!") THEY get on my nerves.

When I was a teenager, my Mom hauled me off to Nutri-System. It was quite an experience... VERY expensive, odd tasting food, etc. I think I lost about 30 pounds or so and then I gained it right back. Now, I don't know enough about Jenny Craig to be able to compare it to Nutri-System... but, Nutri-System has permanently left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended ).

Nutri-System's whole "presentation" made you feel like they really cared about helping people lose weight. When I went in for my initial consultation I was greeted by a lady wearing a long white jacket (like a doctor would wear)... she shared all kind of medical statistics and made this big pitch about how safe and great their program is, how great it would be for me... how all the staff, including herself, followed the program and had lost large amounts of weight on it. She said they all had medical backgrounds and that the whole staff were trained professionals... let's see.. there was supposedly a real doctor to perform a physical on my before I begain... a real nurse to weigh me each week... and a real psychologist to lead behavioral modification type classes each week.

Of course, this was all just a farce - as many sales pitches are. I took a part-time job there that summer while I was out of school. Once behind the scenes, I was amazed (remember, I'm a naive teen here!) to learn that the lady in the white lab coat had NO medical background of any kind. A headhunter had grabbed her for this job, her background was in sales. She had NEVER been on the diet herself. When I asked her about it she said "Oh, I just say that to get people to sign a contract. I wouldn't feed that stuff to my dog". She would make fun of people behind their backs and talk about their measurements, etc. The "real" psychologist was a college student. The "real" nurse really was real though... an LPN if I remember correctly. Who knows about the doctor...

Anyway, I guess the point of my story is that many people will say ANYTHING to get you to buy something.... especially when it's gonna put a lot of cash in THEIR pocket.

Hey, I could be wrong but if she is so "happy" why does she try to cover up. I have observed her trying to pull her jacket closed when it is obviously too tight. Or kind of "hiding"---it's a subtle thing but I know because when I was bigger I did that too. I bet if someone told her that she could be the "right" size tomorrow with no grief/effort/restrictions she would say yes as most big people would.

I wish Starr would try it. Wouldn't it be amazing her losing on Atkins and Joy on Jenny?

Peace
red

You must remember "Joy" is a paid spokesperson for Jenny Craig. She lost 60lbs in the summer off season. On the first new show they brought her out and made a big deal that she lost it "the Jenny Craig way"
Here in cincinnati during the view there are Jenny Craig comercials with guess who in it???????????

She knocks those that dont pay her

IMO I think that the way we all are losing we will keep it off. I never did jenny craig but I did do nutri systems way back when. Yes I lost but I gained it all back and some. We are now eating for life not just for now. we might eat a little more carbs here and there but not the way we used to. I know for myself that I have weeks that I eat more then I should with carbs but then I go back to atkins way.

I got really sick and tired of their low carb bashing, so now I don't "view" them anymore. I turned on Ellen she is much more entertaining than that bunch!
