Default Glucose Disposal agents

Ive been experimenting lately w/Carb up days utilizing GDA - specifically Citrilene (Hydroxy Citric Acid = HCA). Comparatively, I really feel more Pumped The day after than without it. Also, I think it really helps if your a bit insulin-resistant (me) - Im dosing at about 375mg Standardized 30min before and again immediately after- seems to be really benefitial. Q: Are there cheaper but better Supps to help in Maximizing Carb->Muscle shuttle? Ive tried others like Vanadyl Sulfate, Chromium Picolinate but HCA seems to be the most effective. Should I just stick to this? Would the effectiveness diminish in time re: Adaptation/Dependence to HCA for Shuttling Glucose into Muscle cells? Would this make me more Insulin resistant in the long run? I also use ECA during Cardio Days LC days

Hey Shishio,
I have been using theraputic doses of Alpha Lipoic Acid for about a year now. I take it even when I am not having a carb-up but not the large doses i would take during the carb-up. I would recommend about 1.2 grams - 2 grams on a carb up day. They come in 100 mg capsules usually. So maybe 600 mg right after friday nite workout with your first carb up meal and then the next day divide your doses through three times during the day. Alpha Lipoic Acid really is a powerful glucose disposal agent and is also a very versitile anti-oxidant so see what you can do with that. You can buy some at any healthfood store or online store. Good Luck

Alex

Default thanks

thanks for the replies guys.........hmmm as to carving biscuits -hehehe- I dunno- seriously- my cravings are really tied up to insulin production- usually at the end of carbup next day seems like cravings are still up- as soon as insulin is low -i think cravings are too- I heard glutamine helps some people - I'd stick to 1gram max only though as to it sometimes affects ketosis in larger doses plus the powder form seems better digested. I used to take 1gm Glutamine a day before ...didnt disrupt ketosis for me...didnt notice anticraving effect either but I really didnt have craving problems up to now. .............oh...........except for beer.....my major downfall hehehe
