We are all winner...
I must admit I hate any kind of weightloss competition. There is no way to compare the accomplishment of these people.
There are dozens of members here, sticking faithfully to Atkins (or other plans) for years, getting healthier day by day, but loosing weight slowly. There are dozens of members here, sticking faithfully to some exercise program, getting healthier day by day but gaining muscle, improving speed etc. slowly.
There is no way to describe somebody's health, well being in one number. Btw the show even ignored the basic rule: if you have more to loose, you are loosing faster. (See Atkins 10%/5% rule.)
How can we compare these people? How can we say they came in sixth, seventh, last etc.?
I lost 35 lbs, I did run my first half-Marathon in 9 months. Every weekend during my long run I have seen an old slim (80+) man - walking 10 laps. After 9 months he started to run. 100 yards. Here, this forum every day I read with the highest respect the gym log of a woman who has Exercise Induced Asthma, and can not run even one mile without pain. There is an ultramarhoner member too, running 100 miles, but loosing weight slowly. Ok, so who comes in first?
This is so individual. To use one person from every diet to compare diets - ridiculous.
We all have our advantages, disadvantages, we all have our own personal battles, and we all are heroes.
Good luck for all of you to your own battle:-)))
