Lightbulb Poll on TOM Changes

After a few threads on the subject, I thought it would be interesting to take a poll and see if and/or how this woe has changed your TOM... (hoping I can figure out how to make a poll, )

Thank goodness too because I had PCOS and was getting them like once every 8 months.

I am now actually regular for the first time in my life.

I've always been irregular, but in the last year or so I started getting my TOM every 2-3 months. This is the first time (without meds) that I've gotten my TOM in consecutive months. This is going to take some getting used to.

Thanks for the poll.

I get two periods a month now. How wonderful The month and a half I was stalled though, I didn't have an extra one but as soon as I lost a few more pounds it came right away.

I'm on the pill so I definitely know when I'm supposed to get it. I get it then and 2 weeks later also. I only have 5 more pounds to goal so hopefully once I'm there, and I'm not burning anymore fat, this will straighten out.

This sounds just like me. Just a warning to all of you: After a year on Atkins with irregular double periods, I got pregnant while on the Pill. Not that Atkins was to blame (sometimes the Pill just doesn't work, and I've always been irregular anyway), but it is something to think about. I've heard that losing weight and changing to a healthy lifestyle can make a women extremely fertile.

I actually have a lighter and less often TOM. Usually my TOM is very heavy and right on time each month. But while eating LC, I barely even have a TOM. No complaints here!

Myjourney, I have PCOS too along with insulin resistance and I wasn't having a TOM at all...now I have a regular one. It is such a blessing because we have been trying to have a baby for almost 6 years now. Pretty hard to conceive when there was no cycle which meant no ovulation. As much as I hate having a TOM, I'm extremly happy to be having it regularly again.

While I did strict induction levels and no cheating, I did not get TOM.

I have/had PCOS. I am regular for the first time since I have started having TOM's when I was 15. I am 29 now. This woe has been a godsend on many differet levels for me. I did not participate in the poll because there was not a "bacame more regular" box. I saw that the was a more frequent box, but I do not want my results to be confused with those who get it more than once a month.

One interesting fact for those of us losing the extra fat. Estrogen is stored in fat cells, so as we're losing the fat, the extra estrogen is getting into our systems. There will be changes for a few months but then it should settle into a regular routine.

WOE is Way of Eating
WOL is Way of Life
PCOS polycystic ovaries syndrome (correct me if I'm wrong)

I'm on continuous BCP for a fibroid - so I shouldn't get TOM - but haven't stopped spotting since starting this WOE/WOL....so I guess that's my clue to my losing - even though I'm only at a 17 lb loss. I know if I've cheated the spotting slows even more and might stop for a day. It's a little annoying but I'll pay the price to get to my goal!!

My doctor (Gyno) actually suggsted Atkins as a way to address PCOS before having to go the medication route. She said she has seen great success with it regulating the TOM and helping women trying to conceive (the reason I started Atkins)
