question about cheese sticks

somewhere on this forum i found a recipe for mozzerella cheese sticks by dipping string cheese into egg and rolling in grated parmesan, freezing, and deep frying... i tried it, and all the parm fell off, as well as the entire string cheese melted and stuck to the bottom of my pot... any suggestions? thanks in advance,

I haven't tried this, but perhaps try freezing the cheese sticks before coating, then coat frozen cheese and then cook? Also, make sure the oil is very hot, perhaps it wasn't hot enough?
