Default question about food labels

I was just wondering how accurate the labels are with nutritional information and whether we can accept what is printed on them as 'gospel.'
I purchased an outstanding crab spread this week at Sam's Club...called Cajun Crab....and it has a ridiculously low calorie and carb count....howver-it does list sugar as one of its ingredients even though it does not list any grams on the nutrition label. It says 0, so presumably there is just under 1 gram.
If the labels are pretty accurate, what sugar is involved must be negligible because it says 69 calories for 2 tbsp. and only 1 carb....
I'd like to believe the label is accurate because the stuff is really addicting, especially with pork rinds to dip into it.

I think labels are generally accurate, but not perfect. One thing to watch out for is small, unrealistic serving sizes. For example 2 tbs of crab spread might not go very far. Use the 'hidden-carbs calculator' to see if it adds up.

Default the hiddne carb calculator

shows a negative: -.46 carb whereas the label says 1 carb per 2 TBSP so if I understand it correctly, the little bit of sugar that is listed in the overall list of ingredients is really negligible?
This is really two good to be true if I am correct. The crab spread is excellent, with a hint of jalapeno peppers.

LOL...my theory is the only thing that should be taken as gospel is the bible! I am cynical to be honest, about the marketing strategies. Your dip sounds like it would be just fine to be honest, have you tried to put it into fit day to see what come up? The other thing to watch is where sugar is listed - typically, if it is in the first 3 ingrediants, then it is quite high.
