Default I have a yuck mouth!

Ewwww.............. I forgot just how bad your mouth can get on induction. I am doing a re-induction and my mouth is slimy. The back of my teeth have some type of crap on them no matter how much i brush it keeps coming back. This is soooo nasty! I am not even opening my mouth completely while talking in fear of offending someone.
Whew! I'll be glad when this re-induction is over.

Drink more water!!

It doesn't help with the back of the teeth thing, but it does dilute breath and get rid of soem of the cotton mouth at least

I have found "FRISK" mints. They are sugar-free, small and powerful. Better yet, there are only 0.13g carbs per mint vs the 2g carbs that sugar-free gum has!

Good luck - I know how it is. I was so self conscious about my breath and mouth before I found these mints!

I had the same problem and this is what I did to fix it.

1) Brush/floss/gargle after each meal and make sure you do not go to bed without brushing after the last meal.
2) Chew Wrigleys Eclipse gum (1g of carb from aspartame)
3) Enlist the aid of a loved one or friend to be your YMM (Yuck Mouth Monitor)
4) If you drink coffee all day long, cut it out. Drinking coffee incessantly throughout the day leaves you with a thick white film of placque loaded with VSC's (volatile sulphur compounds).

- Bad breath is caused by bacteria feeding protein and producing VSC's as a by product.
- Most of the problem is in the back of your mouth. Your tongue is bumpy and pourous and needs to be brushed especially in the very back - so gag gag. Also, food particles get stuck between the teeth and need to be flossed out. Don't forget to floss behind the last row of teeth. Use a scentless floss and smell the floss - concentrate on the stinky areas of your mouth.
- Gargle with Listerine or another germ killing formula.
- Brush/gargle/floss after each meal and don't go to bed without brushing after the last meal of the day. The idea is to prevent bacteria from setting up shop in your mouth.
- I tried all types of gums, candies and strips but Eclipse work best for me. Target has the best price in my area ($1.44 for a 3 pack).
- Have your YMM do a before and after test for your breath.

Hippy Gal
I found an article about "KetoBreath" on a website. It mentioned that part of the problem was the protein ratio in the diet. I don't believe everything that I read but it doesn't hurt to try so I lowered by protein intake and my mouth is a lot better. Before it was so bad I didn't even want to eat. The nasty taste killed my appetite.

Try checking this out. Here is the page about Keto Breath:

Here in Canada I get them at all the groceries, the convenience stores and Costco. You can check the site that's on the pack - www.frisk.com to see where you can get them in your area. The mints should be at the checkout stand of your grocery like the other mints and gums.
