Angry measurements going up!

Okay, figure this one out! My measurements are going up! None of my clothes fit! Just had TOM last week! I drink 160oz of water a day, no other beverages! I actually have to force myself to stop drinking so much water! My measurements have all went up at least an inch! The scale went down 2lbs! HELP!!!!!!!!! I cried for hours last night because none of my shorts fit and I got rid of all my "fat" clothes months ago! I am in the bathroom every 10 minutes so I know I am not holding water! What could it be? If I drink more than 20 glasses of water a day am I making it worse? I add lemon juice to two glasses a day for flavor! I am very frustrated right now! I know something was going on when my bras and panties were getting tight!

Default Too much water?

I don't know if there is such a thing as drinking too much water, but I think you are drinking waaaaay too much!

A few days has gone by, has there been any change??

Default bloating

I've had troubles with swelling and fluid retention too ... Try radically cutting back the salt and processed foods -- so no bacon, ham, sausage, deli meats or cheese, no canned vegetables, or canned tuna, salmon or sardines, unless label says no salt added. No mustard, pickles, condiments with salt. Make home-made mayonnaise. And nix the soda pop (soda = sodium).

And bump up the potassium intake for a while. Unless you are in kidney failure, or taking blood pressure medication. Then you should talk to your doctor. Anyway, I take 1/8 tsp of the NoSalt (pure potassium chloride, do NOT mistake for HalfSalt, which has sodium salt) and mix it in a glass of water. Drink it down. Do this twic a day. 1/8 tsp of NoSalt provides approx. 325mg potassium, which is the amount in a large banana.

Exercise helps, and nothing better than brisk walking.

Only other thing I can think of is constipation, which can bloat you up, and cause fluid retention too. Read my article Bowel Problems in the Tips section, from the red menu bar at the top.

All the best

Doreen
