What should a low carber grow in a herb garden.

I have a shady garden but am going to try some containers of herbs among the flowers this year.

What about stevia-Can you buy the plant or is it a tree? Poisonous if not handled right?heehee I think I'll stick to sage and such.

Yes, you can grow Stevia. Check around your garden centers and see if you can get seeds. If not, get on the web and do a search for stevia. This is an herb that gets to pretty good size, but you will need to keep it potted if you live in a cool area (I'm in zone 5 here in Ohio) because it is a tender plant. You can grow tons of herbs. Some just for aroma, but many for cooking. Personal favorites of mine are basil and green onions (though thosemay not be an herb). I love those little rosemary trees that look just like small evergreens as well. With most herbs and spices, if there are carbs the amount you would use normally would be make them neglagable. (um too small to worry about) With fresh you get a better taste as well.

I will try the early spring things radishes/snowpeas/spring onions. Its the process not just results.

Other cool weather crops you can try would be lettuce in almost any form, spinach and swiss chard. I'm looking forward to my ground thawing enough to get the lettuce, spinach and chard going, it's really getting expensive at the store.

As for growing things in pots, I have tremendous luck with both standard and grape tomatoes, peppers (sweet and hot) and herbs of all types. I even have perennial herbs like sage, thyme and rosemary in my flower beds. Great for cooking, scents and foliage contrast in the beds.
