I've noticed a reticence toward self promotion from a certain chef who frequents these boards. While this may be admirable, it does lead to a few missed opportunities. Imagine my surprise when I happened upon the May Cookshop Schedule ( www.cookshop.ca )and saw that Karen is teaching two classes!

May 23 for those able to come during the day, and the 28th for the evening.

Ciao baby,

Colin

PS. And the Fish House Dinner is when?

Thanks for letting us know about this Colin. I took a class from Karen once before and it was great. Which would explain why most of these classes are already sold out. But I got into one in June. So thanks for the heads-up.

Arnie

P.S. You're right, it would be nice to know when the next Fish House Dinner is!

My friends weren't interested cos the g/f doesn't like ginger and cilantro, I think it is. Maybe now that the menu is changing to Greek, they'll come too. The website still says Chinese, by the way...

I want to go either way and would be delighted to have a buddy, Rikke )

Karen: What is the web addy for CookShop? That's another thing I want to attend! I'm sorry I was too late to sign up for the LC Indian one, cos I LOVE Indian food!

Default classes in Victoria?

Karen, has there been any consideration for classes held in Victoria?

Have you a relationship with facilities/kitchen store/school over here that could perhaps be utilized for some way-cool LC cooking classes?

I have an "in" to a group of local LCers who just might want to be polled for their solid interest in such a class in the forseeable future...I certainly would sign up, instanter.

Yes! There is a large teaching facility in the back of the store.

So, where were you all when I taught a LC class last fall?

When I teach on the Island, I teach at Engeler Farm. I'll probably do a LC class in the fall.

Great! A heads-up as soon as it's scheduled over here would be fantastic.

I actually did read about your class here last fall, but by the time I get an EAT magazine and get to actually peruse it, the dang thing's are either fully booked or actually over!

I know it's a lot to ask, but if you could give me that heads-up, I'll steer a query by the locals...

Thanks, Karen.
