Thumbs down oh my God, what have I done???

oh my god I went to a baby shower and really messed up. All they had was crossiant sandwiches, so I took the roll off and ate the meat and cheese, and then I looked around and there were potatoe chips--so I had a few--and then there was a pasta salad, so I had some of it too, when asked what I wanted to drink, they offered me punch with ice cream!!!AND I DRANK IT. I was so mad at myself that when the party was over they had cake and I decided what the heck AND I ATE IT TOO!!!. I have been doing so good, it was like the devil just took over .I came home and took a 3 hour nap and woke up with a headache. The thing that really makes me mad was I had eaten bacon and eggs before I left the house so I wouldn't be hungry..Talk to me please!!

Don't be so hard on your self, it happens. Now that you know the bad aftereffects, it is unlikely that you'll do this again. Tomorrow, drink lots and lots of water and keep your carbs low. Remember, tomorrow is another day, and hopefully you'll be following this WOE the rest of your life.

It's okay Donna, it happens to the best of us! Just get back on the horse. It's not your fault the real world doesn't know about LC and it's hard to resist festive peer pressure.

Back on the horse, you can do it!

DonnaCC, well thank heavens you've got THAT over with! At least now you know how it feels to have too many carbs---yucky! Every time you start being mad at yourself, you can just drink a glass of water and be glad you can treat yourself to this very positive new way of eating, and you don't have to have the carb yuckies like I had every single day before I found this WOL. Hang in there and tell us what you did to get back in the swing. WE'll all be here waiting for you tomorrow.

Angry I ended up cheating and paid for it!

I went to a 'couples night out' at my church tonight. There was nothing there for me to eat except high carb food! I ate before I went so I wouldn't be hungry, but it didn't help. I ate it anyway. I had lasagna (which didn't taste so good), tortillas and guacamole, a chocolate dipped strawberry, one piece of fudge, and a piece of beef cooked in barbeque sauce.

After I got home, I felt bloated and tired. Then my stomach started to get upset, and 3 hours later....

So back on the wagon tomorrow!

Donna-- This was ONE instance. Think of it as a good wake-up call. I quit smoking 2 years ago and it was the hardest thing I ever did. My mind kept telling me to smoke and it always had the best "reasons" for me to do so. Curbing any craving or addiction takes willpower. You have to be ever-vigilant for the "mind seductions". No-one knows you better than your own mind and it is evil when you want to make changes...

All the best and remember to never let your guard down. But also don't beat yourself up if you slip. Just make sure its not a daily slip cause thats called a fall. Major crash and burn. lol
