Lightbulb Ladies: Exercise, TOM & Metabolsim

Last week during TOM I lost 3.5 lbs. This week after TOM I lost 4 lbs. For you ladies that hate that TOM here is some food for thought. Your metabolism is higher right before, during and right after. It is better to exercise during this time to maximize this benefit. I have also dropped 4 sizes.

I am at my halfway point and am totally sold on this WOL.

Nice going, igaligal7!

I've found that right after ovuulation and right up until TOM I am a fat burning machine - body is always hot, temp is up and I can feel the furnace burning bright.

There are actual studies that show that it's 'easier' and more effective to workout during the last half of your cycle because of the hormonal profile.

I posted one such study here last summer, if folks are interested.
Quote:
Exercising after ovulation--at the midpoint of the menstrual cycle--is easier, and burns more fat, than exercising in the first week of the menstrual cycle, according to the results of a new Australian study.
The report is posted here Exercise tougher at beginning of menstrual cycle - most fat burned mid-cycle .. Study.

Just to mention .. the medical definition of Day 1 of the cycle is the first day your period begins. Many women think the cycle starts as Day 1 after their period is over.

hth,

Doreen
