I decided to go for fiber replacement (metimucil). I will take this one or two times a day. I am bad about flaxseed and other Atkins alternatives. I will just take it in the morning and at night.

Exclamation Fiber and absorption

Be sure you don't take it with your vitamins or any kind of medicine - fiber will effect how well they are absorbed. You should give yourself a good 2 hour window between taking anything vitamin/medcine -like when using a fiber supplement.

What about more natural fibers like in dark veggies or nuts?

Read the label of whatever Metamucil you take. Regular Metamucil actually has a fair number of carbs in it. They make a sugar-free Metamucil for diabetics that doesn't have carbs but is full of all kinds of artificial flavors and sugars. In my opinion, pure psyllium husks (basically, Metamucil without all the additives) are better. The only brand I have found that sells pure psyllium husks is Konsyl, but there must be some other out there.

Personally, I eat a lot of vegetables and some nuts, but still don't get enough fiber without adding in the psyllium. I've never tried flaxseed, but I'm thinking about it. Some people swear by it.

Trader Joes has pure psyllium, and the natural foods aisle at QFC (Krogers) has it (brand name uncertain).

Now I just have to figure out ways to choke that stuff down...

Pecans are pretty high in fiber and low in carbs. I think a serving size is 28g or about an ounce. That should be listed on the package.

Default found something

I found a generic sugarfree metimucil remake. Kroger brand. It works well I just take in the morning couple hrs after brkfst and at night couple hrs after dinner.

Here is my delima, I stop eating at about 6 pm because by then all of my foods are balanced in my body and I have had up to 1600 calories. I do not want to slow weight loss down by adding an extra snack at night, but I go to be famished. Between the hrs of 8 and 10 I am so hungry. Don't say eat a salad either, I am so sick of salad. I also eat way to much cheese during the day. Guess I'll just suffer and hope the hunger goes away in a few weeks.

Cheater, eat something - the whole 'don't eat after x pm' isn't what it's cracked up to be; especially if you're hungry! And what we learn when we LC is the true meaning of hunger. You don't suffer from blood sugar swings or peaks in insulin so what you feel is really hunger.

IMHO, it's far better to eat every 3 or 4 hours regardless of the time of day, than to try and stick to the 'don't eat after x p.m.' rule - especially if you're hungry!

A great last meal of the day food, btw, is cottage cheese. Half a cup w/ some cinnamon and splenda is divine!

Wow the cottage cheese idea sounds great!!

A thought comes to mind now, I am getting 2 wisdom teeth pulled on MOnday. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to eat with a soar mouth in order to stay on my eating plan? Cottage cheese and eggs are one idea.

From someone who had one pulled this week:

Just stay away from straws... widsom teeth = big holes. You don't want dry sockets.

Hope it's over n done with quickly.
