Default Taco Bell -- need help, please

Ended up going to Taco Bell - I know it is not the best choice for LC, but the group wanted to go there.

After carefully reading them very limited menu (at this particular one.....) I picked out the burrito supreme.

I ate the innards, but not the wrap.

While eating, I noticed that there were some beans in the goop I was eating.

I tried to find Taco Bell or something similiar on Fitday and also a burrito.

How badly did I hurt myself.... as I am on induction and to be honest, the pounds are NOT coming off as it is.

Thanks,

ATM

I'm not sure how bad that was.
When I go there I get the taco salad no beans and don't eat the shell.

Hi there

Not eating the tortilla/wrap was a good idea, and as for the beans in the mix - well they are high in carbs but consider also that they also have protein and fibre in them - for example 1 cup of refried beans is 58.81g carbs (according to fitday) with 17.57g fibre = 41.24g carbs total therefore for 1 cup - now there is no way you had 1 cup in your lunch, probably more like 1-2 tbsp so that would be about 2.5g carbs per tbsp (16 tbsp in a cup from memory).

The link above includes the carbs from the wrap as well which probably makes up the largest proportion of the carb total...

However because you are in induction you really should stay away from beans (Dr A's advice) but personally I wouldn't stress too much, you made a better choice by not eating the wrap than eating it and thats always a good thing!!!

Fiona

I think a better choice would be a couple of the soft tacos and just eat the innards. I like the chicken. There aren't any beans in them.
I went to Jack in the Box a few days ago and the only thing I could eat was the Chipotle Chciken with it's garnish and throw away the bun.
Fast food places are difficult for us. Carl's Jr. has a chicken salad that works and I hear that Wendy's has several new salads but we don't have one here.

When in doubt, go for the taco salad with no beans. And if possible, get them to put the condiments (sour cream, guacamole, etc.) on the side. That way, you're in control.

Anytime I end up at a fast food place, I'll generally order a cheeseburger and then pitch the bun. But watch out for ketchup and onions! Some places love to pile them on!

Well................................

Now I know. This is what happens to me when I go out with skinny friends, feeling frustrated that my weight is not moving since I started this induction 6 days ago and dealing with mammoth stress!!!!! LOL!!!

Granted, I did not eat the wrap
Granted as Fiona said there were maybe 6-7 beans (if that much)
Granted, I could have done worse!!

Thanks so much.

Cool Hi

I think you are fine, ATM!
Remember beans have fiber that you subtract from carbs as well.
You probably had more carbs in the tomatoes than the beans.
live and learn and move on, You are doing fine.

I wouldn't sweat it. just jump back on the atkins horse and go on. It's not like you broke down and ate a pint of Ben and Jerrys.

Jon

P.s. I called someone for my work today whose name was Johnny Atkins...thought it was funny since my name is Jon.
