Default Pure De-lite Espresso Truffles

Oh, my gosh, we are talking low-carb heaven here, folks. Less than one carb per truffle. But as my idol, Steve Irwin (Crocodile Hunter) would say, "Danger, danger, danger!" Could be a binge trigger, so I advise you to buy them one at a time. I got mine in a local health food store, but they are available here:

http://shop.store.yahoo.com/carbsmart/pdt6.html

They also have low-carb gift baskets there!

Default I don't think good quite covers it...

They're so good, I buy them individual 3 max and save them for the once a month chocolate hunt...the smell alone can get ya' goin.

I noticed you didn't mention the other flavors...I've tried all dark chocolate versions with much success.

I love the mint and orange flavors!! I'm on CALP so I'm allowed!! I don't find they trigger cravings....especially if I eat them WITH a meal. Maybe you could try this too. Just have it right after dinner for your dessert!

I haven't tried the other flavors yet. I needed to order some ThickNThin, so I went ahead and ordered 6 truffles as well. I plan to savor them on Christmas Day, and to stay away from the iced sugar cookies (which I adore). I ordered two each of the espresso, hazelnut, and peanut butter.

I came across a post somewhere else on the boards which said that the labelling on the Pure De-Lite candies can be misleading, that there are "hidden carbs" in the form of sugar alcohols or something. So, I sure don't want to get into a habit of eating them, but they sure are a tasty sugar-free special treat!

Agreed, the orange truffle is my favorite although I rarely have them these days, but they do indeed rock...

Kindest Regards,

Orange is the absolute best!!!
But you are right, there are hidden carbs.....I put it in the hidden carb calculator and it comes up with 4 carbs per truffle. They are well worth it though IF you can keep it at just one!!!! Its just the right size and amount and I do find it easy to have just one or two a month, but some people may not.

Default How do I find the Hidden Carb counter?

I like the Pure Delight Dark Chocolate bars, but I'm sure that something isn't right, they must be more than 1 carb. Help?

There are many posts/discussions here about sugar alcohols (specifically maltitol) and carb counting and hidden carbs... chocolate candy comes under this heading quite definitely.

There is also excellent summary information about sweeteners and sugar alcohols available in the Low Carb Tips section, see the orange menu bar above or quick links on the right...

Hope this helps.
