Question diet soda?

hi, I have a question about diet soda. I know they have no carbs but I've heard bad things about caffeine and the artificial sweeteners stalling the LC diet. I just started Atkins 3 days ago and I have all this diet soda that I don't if I should give it away or if it's ok to drink. I was just wondering what people's thoughts/experiences/opinions are on this.

Hi
I am sure no authority on low carbing - but I have found a few diet sodas that are sweetened with splenda - which I believe you are allowed to have when low carbing.
One is diet-rite and the other is one called waist watchers - both are sweetened with splenda - and contain no caffeine.
Both brands have a variety of flavors.
Although I'm sure water is by far the best thing to drink.
Hope this helps.
Sharon

I still have a diet soda every once in a while.... but I wouldn't miss them at all if they suddenly disappeared off the face of the planet! Now, mind you, I drank 2-3 a day in my "former life", but I realized that the caffeine in them makes my cravings stronger, causing false hunger. Who needs that? I have learned to LOVE water...I drink it all day long. When I need something with flavor in it, I have Koolaide sweetened with Splenda, or a glass of iced tea. Moderate amounts of caffeine (<250 mg/day) probably won't affect your weight loss.

I used to drink a ton of Diet Pepsi and I've found that "Fruit 2-O" is a good substitute. It's fruit flavored water (if you want more taste than water), sweetened with Splenda.
