Default I Blew It Today After 5 Weeks

Ok here I am... I know what I did when I was doing it.. Does this sound familiar...

I was at a class today.... surrounded by tons of food and cookies... I ate my atkins breakfast.. (eggs..) even brought my endulge candy bar.. only had a few pieces..

I went to lunch - did great BUT THEN THIS HUGE FEELING OF NAUGHTINESS came over me and I ate two cookies and one brownie..

So, now I feel horrible ... I have lost 15 lbs so far have 50 more to go... Has anyone else ever feel off the wagon before? Will I gain any weight back if I jump right back tomorrow?

Help....

Liza...

It happens all the time. The important thing is to forgive yourself and get right back on track again with the next thing you eat.
It also helps to think about what it was that caused you to eat those forbidden foods in the first place and then develop a plan to avoid doing it again.
Could it be the Endulge bar setting off cravings? For some people even the taste of something sweet can trigger cravings for more, even if it's not sugar. Combine that with the temptations all around you and it could be a recipe for trouble. Would you consider swearing off anything that tastes sweet for a few weeks to get rid of the sugar cravings? Just a thought....

Liza --

So what! Don't feel bad because we ALL have bad days! Just get right back on it and expect that it will happen again. One bad day once in a while shouldn't effect your weight loss. However, more than 1 or 2 surely will so beware! I'd give up the Endulge bars. I have finally come to realize that every time I eat one it makes me want more and more.............

You know you have such a good point! I didn't think about the trigger effect. Yes, I can do without the sweets for a few weeks.

Thanks..

Will I gain any weight from this episode ?

Liza, you didn't blow it! You've lost 15 pounds in little over a month, and that's a huge accomplishment! You're doing great! Don't beat yourself up and throw in the towel just because of one little slip. It happens to all of us sooner or later. What's important is dusting yourself off and getting back on the wagon right now (not tomorrow)! Just remember why you started this plan in the first place, and how much better you feel physically. I know you can do it!

Jeeze, I've got a permanent case of road rash from falling off the wagon so much. Pick yourself up, dust off and hop back on NOW, don't wait.

Forgive yourself, you made a mistake, but try and figure out why. Are you overly tired, bored or was it just one of those things? The bars may have been a contributing factor also.

You can do it!

Liza...

Yes, the scale could show an increase tomorrow or the next day, but it's just water retention from the sugar and will leave again quickly.
It helps to drink extra water to help flush out the water retention (literally!) and be prepared for some increased cravings the next day or two.
If the sugar cravings get bad, you can supplement with Chromium or L-Glutamine to help.

Okay, so how did you blow it?
Big deal, you had a moment of weakness. Start right back LC'ing tomorrow and you'll be fine.

Everyone has a moment of Weakness

It's life ... Sometimes you need others to tell you that which is cool too ...

Don't worry

people who fail are those who won't stop endulging

1 day can't kill a month
