Question Does l-glutamine help sugar cravings??

I have read that l-glutamine, chromium, and l-carnitine make a big difference in the success with weight loss? Does anyone have first hand results and what amounts are safe? I have read in Dr. Atkins, but I want to hear from the "losers".

Hi there Be slim (and you will be!),

L-Glutamine definitely helped my sugar cravings. I originally took chromium as well, but am not really sure whether or not it helped.

I used to take 500mg of the glutamine half an hour before meals, and after a week or so I stopped. Big sugar craving! So, I recommenced it and it helped again.

L-Glutamine is very safe to take. It is an amino acid - and therefore naturally occurring. It is useful (in much larger doses)after exercise, as it gets rid of lactic acid. It also boosts growth hormone, improves the immune system among lots of other uses. Good stuff!

I haven't taken L-Carnitine, so can't give you first hand info on that. I do believ though that it is more a help with weight loss as such rather than sweet cravings.

HTH!

Me, too! I take l-glutamine, great stuff. Helps with sugar cravings, and it is great for your gut! My DH takes it with a few other supps, and his acid reflux is gone.
