Default Blood glucose levels

Hello all,

Got a quick question about blood sugar levels. I have a diabetic glucometer at home and have been using it to check my levels, and was wondering if there was some 'magic number' to look for as far as being in ketosis or not. I used the ketostix my last time on a low carb plan, and got to the point where I could tell without them whether I was in or not just by gut feeling. I thought I read somewhere in the past a blood level around 68 or less was a ketogenic level. I hover around 50-70 myself, and have been as low as 42 with no ill effects i.e. light-headed, dizzy, etc. Anyone with any ideas?

I don't know if there is a magic number, but I do know that when I'm in ketosis (I check with the sticks occasionally) my BG stays in the 60 - 70 range. This is probably a YMMV issue. I check blood sugars due to hypoglycemia concerns, but it has truly been eye-opening watching the effect of certain foods and exercise on BG levels.
