Talking new here too!

Hi gang!

I'm new here.. ..been ghosting around for a while, but decided to jump in TODAY!

I'm new to the CORRECT way to LC...did it a couple years ago and it made me NUTS!! However, 2002 has been a tough year healthwise and it's led me back to the LC Frontier! My endocrinologist feels that I am insulin resistent and a low carb diet is the "cure" for the ailment. I'm scared to death about developing diabetes and since I already have one autoimmune disease NOT doing anything could have very negative affects on my health (as ill as it is at the moment!!). I grabbed a chair at B&N and skimmed several deciding PP was the program for me.

So here I am..trying first and foremost to reduce my insulin levels...but enjoying the weight loss too. I'm supposed to be in the induction phase, but most days? 30 g is hard..I usually hit 32-34. Maybe I should be tougher on myself, but when I review my fit-day logs from last year...I was consuming 300-400 per day!! But I'm still working on hitting the magic number 30!!

When I found out about my thyroid problem I couldn't quit that forum..that's under "control" so I'm transferring my obsession to you guys...I'm looking forward to our talks!!

Welcome to the forum!

This diet is indeed a good way to control insulin resistance, lucky for you that your doctor (most don't) is a supporter of this way of eating.

Try visiting our Thyroid area on this low-carb forum - that way you can satisfy both your board addictions at once!
