Default Trouble Eating-Advice Please

Hi:

I'm in my 12th day of Induction and have lost 8 pounds so far (in fits and starts). Yesterday afternoon, after cooking dinner for the family, I could hardly choke down two bites of my dinner and I feel the same this morning. I'm following Induction to the "T", including my veggies, but even the thought of something high-carb is giving me the queazies.

Aside from the above, everything else seems normal--the headaches, tiredness, etc. are gone. I'm taking a multi-vitamin plus extra calcium, magnesium and zinc (in one tablet).

Am I doing something wrong or will this also pass? I know I'm not supposed to skip meals, but there's no way right now that I could eat anything.

Thanks!

I felt this way too for a bit, but the feeling did pass within a few days. You really should make yourself eat a little something though, wouldn't want to go into starvation mode!

I have heard this from several people. You are right about skipping meals. Instead try eating smaller portions...maybe even going to 5 or 6 smaller meals throughout the day rather than 3 larger ones. This will spread your food out through the day and make it more managable. Hang in there!

If you really truely can't bring yourself to eat, try a low carb protein shake. It's better than nothing. Or try to think of something "legal" that appeals to you, and eat some of that.
There are times I really can't stand to think about eating at all. That's when I try to get a small salad, or a few pieces of pepperoni or cook up a chicken breast. Just so that you eat SOMETHING.

Hi All:

Thanks for the suggestions, all of which I've tried, and the problem is at least under control.

I seem to find that smaller meals work better for me. But, just today to experiment, I ate one egg and two small sausages for breakfast and my stomach's in my throat again. So, it looks like small is definitely the way to go. I also tried a small salad meal and that worked well, too. Maybe I just can't handle too much protein at one time??

Anyway, I'm not giving up!!

Thanks again!
