I ran across a note from somebody about a really good bread w/ 5 g/2 slices, but cannot for the life of me find it again. The note mentioned the brand name and if I can find it again, I can get my local Safeway store to order it in.

Does anyone know of a good LC bread, available at grocery stores? Not a mix, but already baked.

Try the Search feature (upper right of the screen)?

PageDown through the Subject lines? Sort (see the bottom of the Products page) by Subject alphabetically and then PageDown? Sometimes I rename subject lines so they'll sort better, so words like "bread" come out at the beginning of the lines and then multiple posts sort up in 'bundles'...

These are some alternate search techniques that might help you.

I buy a low carb bread all the time at our grocery store - it is called Healthy Life bread and it comes in wheat (which is the one we buy and is the lowest carbs), white, italian and sour dough. My husband and son both eat this bread also and really like it!!

I have a few suggestions: there are two kinds I know of that are available at Walmart/Kroger type stores that are fairly low carb:

Earthgrains 35 - a vegtable fiber wheat bread with 5 eff. carbs per slice (just bought today and haven't tried) About $1.59 for the loaf. This one looks like a real winner for texture and price, and any low carb bread from the grocery chains has my vote.....

Natures Own 100% whole wheat (7 eff. carbs per slice). Use a lot and it is very good sliced bread. About $1.89 loaf.

Then at the health food stores : Irene's rye bread 4-5 carbs per slice. This one is very good but VERY expensive -around $4.00 for the loaf.

I LOVE sandwiches and am always looking for good sliced bread. Hope this helps.
