Hi there I am i only have 2 questions to ask ,I weigh181 currently and would like to be 135 to 140 by January 1st 2003 ,what is the maximum amount of carbs I should start with per day,also how many should I eat to maintain my gaol weight?

hi Karen. In direct answer to your calories question, the advice is often 10x - 12x your weight in pounds, so for you at the moment that would be 1800 - 2160 calories.
BUT..... get started, watching your carb levels and see how you go, some of us need to keep an eye on the calories too, some of us don't need to. I can't say I worry about them too much, but I keep an eagle eye on my carbs and I work hard to make sure I eat enough fat and drink enough water.

I believe that the CALP (Carbohydrate Addicts Lifespan Plan) doesn't exactly count carbs. There is a plan for your evening reward meal that I think begins with salad and then 1/3 meat 1/3 fat??? and 1/3 carbs. If you want more of any one thing then you must have an equal amount of the others as well. And you must finish your meal within an hour. Don't quote me though, as I have only read the original CAD (Carbohydrate Addicts Diet).

Check your book for details.
