Default Gaining Weight

I need some advise, I've been on the diet for about 6 weeks, and everything was going ok until the last week and a half. I was loosing steadily (about 23 pounds) and only went off a little. The diet has definitely taken care of my caravings which is a miracle.

Now the problem, I've steadily gained weight for the last week and half, about 12 pounds!! I'm guessing it's temporary, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Unfortunatley, it's not my scale, my clothing fits like it used to.I'm drinking tons of water, am in very strong ketosis.

I saw an earlier post so I might not be eating enough veggies, or having enough carbo's.

Here's a regular day

2 - 3 eggs breakfast
beef jerkey mid am (1 carb serving)
4 ounches chicken, with sauteed mushrooms and about 2 cups salad for lunch
beef jerky mid afternoon
dinner varies a great deal. last night I got hom very late and had salami with cream cheese (about an ounce) and pepperchinis (2 grams) and a cup of sugar free jello.

I'm taking a prescription version of nasalcrom, and sudafed everyday, could this be a problem?

I'[m going t sign up with fitday, but any adivse is useful.

Is the jerky salty or cured with sugar?

Why not start an online journal and list out your daily intake for us to take a look at. Without knowing day to day details it will be pretty hard to pinpoint exactly what is causing the weight gain.

I know that some people will regain a few pounds after induction due to the body dumping too much water and it not being replaced, so the body recoops what it flushed. You should be drinking a minimum of 64 oz of water PLUS 8 oz for every 25 pounds you want to lose.

I'm thinking it's the jerky, salami with it's nitrates/sodium. These are killers for me. What is peperchinis?. Also..sugarfree jello...does it have aspertine in it?...this causes grief for me too.

Are you getting enough fat?...butter/olive oil/mayo?

Sorry...I can't help you with the meds you listed.

Your ketosis shouldn't be reading strong....how much water are you drinking-(lots to some is not enough to others)....what else are you drinking...any pop?

I'm a bad one for retaining water...I can gain 4 pounds because of a high sodium food. It's just water...but still a pain.

hang in there!! Cin

Default Thank you

Thank you for your thoughts, I'll set up the food log later today, any input you give would be great. I don't think it's the jello becuase I've only had it two or three times, although it could be adding to the problem. The jerkey is a possibility, it's more like a slim jim type item. It's not salty or sweet, it's actually very fatty, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have loads of salt.

I'm not sure if I'm drinking the 64 oz of water, plus the additional 8 oz for each 25 pounds that I want to lose. But I am drinking two fo the big 1.5 liter bottles a day. I'm not drinking anything else, no coffee, tea, soda, etc.

Anyhow any additional info you ever have would be greatly appreciated!
