Default Relatively low carb corn puffs

I found Utz Hulless Puff'n Corn at a truck stop in Pennsylvania. They also come in Cheese Flavor (15 carbs in 2 cups), Butter Popcorn (not hulless--13 carbs in 2 cups, and White Cheddar Popcorn (not hulless--15 carbs in 2 cups). They have a website at UTZ Products

Here's the nutrition information for the original Puff'n Corn flavor:
Serving Size: 2 cups (about 30 grams)
Calories: 180
Total Fat: 15 grams
Total Carbohydrates: 11 grams
Total Fiber: 0 grams
Total Protein: 1 gram

A half-cup would be a nice crunch for only 3 carbs.

Hope this is helpful.

They sound interesting... I ran them through the Hidden Carb calculator on your (trusting ) behalf and they actually check out as reasonably accurate !

As long as one isn't sensitive to corn or get cravings, these could make a nice treat for occasional use!

How many half-cup servings in a package, is that the 2 cups you were talking about?

My only caution with these is that corn has a very high glycemic value and I imagine with it being processed, it would be even higher than just plain corn which means that 3 grams of carb from that would raise your blood sugar higher and faster than say 3 grams of carb from broccoli. I'm interested....let us know how they effect you and be sure to eat some protein with these to offset the glycemic effect.

Lisa,

I can't eat them, because of diabetes, I already knew that. I just thought other people might be able to enjoy them as a crunchy treat now and then.
