Thumbs up Review: NHF Ultra Whey More XP

I've decided to change from my regular unflavoured whey protein, and start using flavoured ones for shakes. I'm building up my routine to BFL type sets, and need smaller meals, and more proteine and amino acids.

So after browsing some lables, I picked up the NHF Ultra Whey More XP, Chocolate flavour.

It's sweetened with Sucralose (same as Splenda), and had the bang-for-the-buck in terms of Glutamine dose, compared with other products at the store, and only 3 grams of carbs per 2 scoops (70 grams), and 52 grams of protein.

In addition, the label lists a GH Stack (TM) (Glutamine petide and other stuff) formulated for muscle recovery, which I really needed after intensifying my routine.

It smelled very nice and chocolate-like. Once I added water, it immidiately clumped and got stuck, but once I ran the hand mixer through it, it was very smooth. It tasted great, I only used one scoop in 1/3 liter water with 1 tbsp cream, and it was great.

I'll try more creative things with it later, adding flax and/or flax oil, psyllium etc. for thickdening and for fiber, but by itself it was a great high-protein, low-carb shake. It's a bit more expensive than other brands, CDN $47 for a 910g container, but it will probably save me some bucks in Glutamine supplements alone.

Unlike some other brands, it was not fortefied with any vitamins or minerals.

It's now half an hour after that 1/2 portion shake, and it's very filling.

Wa'il
