Cool Hi! I'm new here!

Just wanted to send out a "hello!"

I've had been doing Atkins on and off for several months, but still lifting weights and wondering why I kept feeling like crud.

Then I finally decided to give the CKD a try. I'm coming up on the end of my second week (I can almost taste the Captain Crunch already!)

I'm currently in school studying a lot of biochemistry, so paired with all the reading I've been doing in Lyle's book and my own research, I feel like I've got a much better grip on things now. I tend to lurk/post in a lot of other online groups, so I might look familiar to some.

I'm currently trying to research why exactly metabolism shuts down during my menstrual cycle and if there's anything that can be done to compensate for it. I know you guys might not be interested in this, but dang it, it's frustrating for us ladies!

Anyway, greetings and I'm looking forward to the conversations!

Pretty cool, and about on track with what I'm finding.

Also paired with the fact that testosterone is highest during that second part of the cycle (so better strength on the weightlifting).

Unfortunately, I haven't seen any sort of compensation for it, except "just deal, you're female, life's not fair" Heh.

Same here. I can vouch for the added strength later on in my cycle as well. This is one area where I think having a 6 week cycle is a good thing; I get 3 weeks of high body temps and more fat burning instead of just 2.

Are you taking an ECA? If not and if you're open to the idea taking one those first few weeks might make a difference?

Yup, already spazzing happily with it during the week.

Ah well. I'll just take the stall for now, as long as I know it's coming... thanks!
