Default potassium, calcium, magnesium

hi,
i read on another thread that we should be taking about 500 mg of potassium per day. this is only 15% of the rda though. would it be better to take more? i have been takin the full 100% rda.
i have also been taking 100% the rda of calcium and magnesium and drinking lots of water but i am still getting aches in my muscles and joints.
any suggestions?
have a happy day!
annie

From what I have read on here we should be taking supplements of:
1000mg Calcium
500mg Magnesium
500mg Potassium

There are threads on this in the newbies questions, but I dont know how to attach them....

I found a cal/mag with 2:1 ratio 500mg cal and 250mg mag, so only need to take 2 per day. Someone told me they have 500mg tablets, but I am still looking for them.

Potassium is found in alot of foods, so dont think you need to take any more than 500mg in tablets.

Hi Annie,
As Akiwican says, potassium is found in a lot of foods - particularly meat.
If you keep track of your food intake with www.fitday.com you can find out just how much potassium is in your day's food intake. (Just click on the food itself)
For example, 1 egg has 70mg potassium, an 8 ounce steak has 636mg.
So don't be going overboard with your Potassium tablets.
Cheers, Annie.
