Cool Smoothies!

During the school year we alternate protein bars, eggs, and soy protein smoothies. Soy protein with splenda and flavorings. Mix soy milk, protein powder, splenda or sweet-n-low, vanilla flavoring with OJ or orange flavoring. Tastes like an Orange Julius! Hubby is not on LC but likes chocolate soy milk with banana. Add ice in blender and mix. Any LC fruit with soy milk and ice is good.

Or have leftovers from the night before dinner. Don't be locked into "breakfast foods". As long as it's LC, it can be for breakfast.

If you look under Kitchen: Low Carb Recipes

There is a section called Breakfast Ideas. There are lots of great recipes and options there. If you are worried about staying true to induction-friendly foods, just do a search on the forum for "induction" and there are a number of posts specifically for induction-friendly breakfast foods.

Good luck!

If I'm in a hurry in the morning and want something sweet, I mix a few tablespoons of commercial sour cream with about a teaspoon of Splenda (I actually use about 4 drops of liquid Splenda - the equivalent), mix in some cocoa powder to taste, and have it for breakfast. It takes like chocolate mousse and it's very low carb and quick. Sometimes I have it for a bedtime snack too.

I replied to your pm, but thought I'd answer here, too

Most of the time I have a mocha first thing in the morning and then breakfast a bit later (sometimes it's an early lunch)...

a travel mug of coffee with da vinci syrup (or splenda if you don't have the syrup), cream and 1 tsp of unsweetened cocoa (ie: Fry's cocoa).

anything that's LC can be had at anytime, doesn't have to be eggs and bacon...

I like jalapeno havarti cheese - I buy it at Superstore or at Save On Sometimes I just have 1 oz of that with the mocha

Make a protein shake and add 1 c. of coffee, 1-2 tsp of the cocoa and some ice cubes in the blender. I like the NHS powder. It's pricey but really lasts forever and it's used in lots of recipes. I got mine (vanilla) at Save On for $45 (yikes, I know, but I don't use it a whole lot and it lasts forever, tastes great, sweetened with Splenda and LC/HP).

hope this helped a bit.

Oh, there's a recipe on here somewhere for homemade protein bars - do a search if you're interested

Morning!
If you are over the Induction hump, you can enjoy a 5"stalk of celery, stuffed with peanut butter, two tomato wedges, a couple of slices of Gouda and some turkey bacon~YUM! I can't wait.
It will have 8 or so net carbs, but MAN what a good breakfast!
If you can keep all of your meals at 8 NC, you'll have it made for OWL(seemingly so).
Yours,
~Sand
BTW-I had such a peaceful nights rest!

I think a big part of the reason I fell off the wagon the last week was that for the last couple of weeks I have just felt ill! Let's put it this way, in the mornings, If I didn't know it was impossible, I'd think I was pregnant!!! Also for the last couple of weeks, I've had the runs sooooo bad I was living on imodium!!!

Just the thought of breakfast makes me ill!!!

The smoothies sound like a great idea, but are they filling?
Also I'm going to try the sour cream *mousse* and a few of the other suggestions!!

Thanks so much!

My favorite easy breakfast is cottage cheese with divinci vanilla syrup and either cinnamon or berries mixed in. Sometimes I add a few chopped walnut halves too.
